Clever Girl...

This is sort of shocking, but Sarah Palin is not the only person who thinks it's witty to say "Lamestream Media", it looks like its some sort of hot meme in the Tea Party community.  This is deeply troubling; it indicates these people are even stupider than we thought.

First of all, "lame" doesn't exactly rhyme with "main", it doesn't start with the same letter, it doesn't really do anything.  This is a level of cleverness that would be self-redacted by the Ying-Yang Twins.

Second, in terms of substance, "lame" isn't the most pointed barb you could use against the media, not if you're trying to communicate that they're dishonest or at least delusional.  "Lame" is at the level of specificity that a 13-year old comprehends, where they understand that some things are "cool", and others are "like so not cool", but they aren't really equipped to articulate why. 

Honestly, it seems like they should have just gone with "Fagstream Media".
